“For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.” ~ Philippians 1:29
These words from Philippians can be challenging. How can the same God who created love, laughter, and peace, be a God that asks us to suffer for him? Hoping in a glory that is eternal, and walking in the freedom of endless grace, sounds like fantasy when our days are filtered by hues of hurt, darkness, and grief.
No matter who we are or where we come from, each and every one of us has encountered hardship at some point in our lives. Progressing through seasons of deep pain can feel isolating; it’s easy to think that God has turned His back on us in these moments.
But the truth? The truth is that He is with us. He is walking with us through the darkness and into the light. The grieving process is Christ’s way of accompanying us from brokenness to wholeness; from distress to peace.
Grieving is the process through which we naturally participate in the healing of our hurts, disappointments, and losses in life. Most of us want this process to be quick and painless, which is so characteristic of our culture today. However, real and lasting healing does not take place quickly and painlessly — and that’s why the Life’s Healing Journey team has published a new resource: An Introduction to Finding Peace and Healing in Our Grief.
We invite you to use this guide to begin your own healing journey, and discover how you can find peace and healing through your grief.
Today, your journey begins. The journey of healing is often unpredictable — but every step forward is a step towards freedom. However you come today, whatever hurts contribute to the heaviness in your heart, come in love knowing that Jesus loves you and wants to love the world through you.
