Letting go and letting God appears risky

0

Letting go and letting God lead the way appears to be risky. Life in any other style than we are used to can appear risky. It takes time to learn how to turn our life and our will over to the care of God. In the “Lord's Prayer” is the phrase: “Thy will be done.” A believer sees the divine will and plan for each of us as a sharing of divine wisdom and freedom until each is raised up to a new and divine kind of life. This is a great gain for ourselves and everyone with whom we come into contact. Whatever risk there is, is worth taking.

Dependence on God is not a “put down.” In fact dependence on God leads to a remarkable independence. We become the persons we can be by being willing to learn and cooperate in our own liberation. God is not merely an “authority” figure, though a child may see him this way. God is the source of all life and freedom. Dependence on God is a raising up!

Prayer:

You call me, Lord, to “run the risk” of coming completely to life in you. You call me to trust you, that you will not let me go astray. I turn my will and my life entirely over into your care.
